The Beers
This section will grow over time as we add new additions so please do check back Great Gable abv 3.7 % O.G. 1035 Our very first beer and - boy - did it tast good!! Giles has designed this to be a "rehydration ales", a well balanced session beer to appeal to drinkers who have been working up a thrist on the fells. It is made from Thomas Fawcetts pale malt with a little of their dark crystal malt. We use High Alpha Challanger Hops for bittering and another hop for aroma. All you beer buffs can try and guess which one.
Wasd'Ale abv 4.4% O.G. 1042 Our second beer, ruby in colour, stronger , drink it slowly and it has a wonderful after taste. The grist charge is again pure malt with around 10% crystal malt but the hops are classic Northdown Bittering Hops, Giles however is secretive how much and when they go in
WryNose abv 4.0% O.G. 1039 Our Summer beer with a real zesty flavour. This again has a basis of Pale malt and then a large amount , about 30% of Rye malt, and a small amount of Oat malt. This is boiled with new Hedgerow variety pioneer hops. A summer cracker!
Scawfell abv 4.8% O.G. 1046 Giles has scaled hieghts to provide a tip top ale. Reminiscent of an old fashioned I.P.A this has a grist charge of pale malt with a modicum of roasted wheat malt. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
